Just an idea for a possible planet.
Bǎoshí
General info: 9,345 km diameter. Approximately 132,000,000 km from systems sun, Rán, a class G3 Red Giant. One moon called Xiǎoyán which houses a communication station and onsite reserve soldiers. There are three other planets in the system, all of which are classified as uninhabitable. 18 EST (Earth Standard Time) hour day/night cycle.
Use: Set aside by the highest ranking members of the Protectorate the planet is home exclusively to the families of these members and their personal estates. The world of Bǎoshí is a spot of calm untouched by the surrounding chaos.
Climate:Temperate and tropical climates crafted by atmospheric terraforming techniques. Two arctic zones at the northern and southern tips are ranged from -15°C to -92 °C.
Surface: 90% land dotted with hundreds of artificial freshwater lakes as requested by the exclusive members that inhabit the planet. Also has one large saltwater sea at its equator. The only two natural bodies of water are small freshwater oceans at Bǎoshí’s northern and southern poles. They are currently frozen over with a thick layer of ice. Land is covered in temperate forest, plains, Tropical Rainforest, small pockets of mountainous regions, and frozen tundras at the north and south. The various biomes are made up of non-indigenous plant and animal life as selected by the Protectorate.
History: Discovered in 2298 by Magellan Project exploration ship, The Zheng. Despite it’s breathable atmosphere it was originally deemed uninhabitable due to it’s fierce winds and temperatures in excess of 67°C. In 2342 its possible uses were reevaluated by the Protectorate and the planet underwent mass atmospheric refurbishment, turning the once hostile world into a lush housing for life and an exclusive paradise for high echelon Protectorates and their families. Soon afterwards it was named Bǎoshí, meaning Gem in Chinese. Since then the location has been one of the most well kept secrets of the protectorate. It is unknown what became of the Alien workforce and civilians that shaped the world of Bǎoshí.
