Name derived from a tribe of Nephilim in the Bible, known as the Anakim or Mighty Ones.In the time of Uprising, the Biblical connection has been lost, but the concept of mighty superhumans still remains and the name is synonymous with strength, power and fortitude.
Originally, the Anakim Package was utilize by Protectorate Military and PMC Subcontractors for the Big Ten; for ops where visibly wearing power armour was detrimental to mission parameters and thus was more of a liability than a benefit. It eventually became a high demand product that found its way into competitive sports, especially blood sports.
The Anakim Superhuman Performance Cybernetic Augmentation Package grants those who use it, superhuman performance, utilizing a combination of multi-walled carbon nanotube muscles anchored to an endoskeleton made out of various ceramic composites such as tungsten disulfide, with carbyene reinforcements at various structural points in the endoskeleton to give it additional levels of durability. The motive power for the synthetic musculature that makes up the Anakim Augmentation Package, are vanadium dioxide motors, which generates the necessary power to give the muscles superhuman levels of performance, increasing and decreasing muscle contractile power and speed in accordance to what is needed. In Earth standard gravities and atmospheres, operators in possession of such a system have no troubles leaping and jumping dozens of meters in a single bound to delivering blows that would could be mistaken for mortar strikes. In lesser gravities and atmospheres, operators equipped with the Anakim Package can hit hundreds of meters in a single bound, hit running speeds in the high hundred kilometers per hour, etc.
In order to power the system, the Anakim Package makes use of molten carbonate salt fuel cells in conjunction with radioisotope thermoelectric generators, which are appropriately shielded and scattered throughout the endoskeleton. It is decentralized, in order to keep the system functional in the event that power is cut off to one or more parts of the operator's body.
Internal organs and other internal organic systems, should the operator of the Anakim Package choose to retain them; are augmented for increased durability and strength, and are sustained by your typical sustenance intake. Mind you, that the caloric intake for augmented organs is much higher now due to the fact that they are biochemically altered. Oxygen intake is supplemented by respirocytes, specially engineered synthetic blood cells that can absorb, retain and transport thousands of times the amount of oxygen than regular blood cells. Carbon Dioxide output is also handled by respirocytes specially tasked to handle carbon dioxide disposal.
The exodermis and epidermis covering the muscles and endoskeleton, are made from augmented & nanostructured keratin and calcium, interwoven with meshes of MWCNT to provide additional levels of strength and durability. Also woven into the exodermis is a series of layers made out of germanium and silicon wrapped around a sticky polyimide film. The foundation layers can detect different pressures between 0 and 15 kilopascals, which is the range of pressures one might encounter while typing on a keyboard or holding a small object. The skin does this thanks to its bio-polymer skin, which changes its thickness in response to changes in pressure, which is then measured and controlled by built-in capacitors.
It is 1,000 times more sensitive than human skin and is based on organic transistors. It sandwiches an elastic rubber layer between two parallel electrodes, and can detect the slightest touch — even the ephemeral sensation of an alighting butterfly. It does so by making use of nanowire hairs printed onto an 18-by-19 pixel square matrix measuring about 2.7 inches square. The nanowire transistors were then connected to a layer of conductive rubber, which changes its electrical resistance when compressed. This level of sensitivity can be adjusted at will, and can be calibrated to detect things such as magnetic fields and other anomalies.
In order to cool the operator's body and keep it from overheating, due to high heat outputs generated by the system, the Anakim Package is equipped with subdermal cooling coils that make use of condensate that provides enough cooling that the operator's body stays at a reasonable temperature range during high levels of activity.
The entire package is monitored, controlled and regulated by an onboard computer system called Gnosis. The OS for the Anakim Package is called Arete.
The overall package, increases the user's weight by an additional hundred pounds, which increases or decreases whenever the operator does substantially heavier lifting, quicker running and such.
