Screwface Romeo: a collision while warping would destroy the ship, but do little harm to the planet/asteriod/whatever

Screwface Romeo: So, then what happens when the warp fields of two ships intersect?
Feb 24, 2014 19:12:56 GMT
aqi: Perhaps they cancel each other out? Or, at least, the stronger cancels out the weaker field. Which means? I don't know. Maybe all that compressed space time

aqi: springs back, crushing the weaker vessel between the spring back space time in front and the expanding space time in the rear?

Screwface Romeo: Maybe they both get torn apart by eachother's fields. Then playing Space Chicken becomes a thing
Feb 24, 2014 20:59:33 GMT
aqi: But if they get torn apart by each other's fields, then why doesn't a single field tear apart objects?
Feb 24, 2014 21:20:36 GMT
Screwface Romeo: With two fields it's being bent in different directions at once
Feb 24, 2014 21:23:07 GMT
aqi: But the only times when the two fields intersect is in front of the crafts.
Feb 25, 2014 6:11:42 GMT
Screwface Romeo: Or behind. Because it contracts space ahead and expands it behind

aqi: At no point are there two warp fields intersecting with each other and the spacecraft, right?

Screwface Romeo: If you're tailing another spacecraft, then your field is contracting space in front of you, while theirs is expanding it around you (eg behind them)

deepsixrecovery1: hey. all things aside, i've been really busy lately so you won't get any feedback/ideas from me anytime soon. Sorry At least not until summer.
