PMC Spotlight:
Swartkrans Integrated Defense Applications and Solutions (Swartkrans Geïntegreerde verdediging Aansoeke en Solutions)
SIDAS is the chief PMC(Private Military Company) from the colony/mining world of Swartkrans, which was originally settled by South Africans working for the Swartkrans Offworld Mining and Development Conglomerate, which was originally an independent company before it was absorbed into the Big Ten. Over time, more workers came to the colony of Swartkrans, many of them of American and European descent. Eventually, the population became mixed, both genetically and culturally.
The contractors that make up SIDAS are known for their brutality, their pragmatism and their dark sense of humor. Because they hail from a mining and construction colony, many of the equipment used by the contractors of SIDAS are repurposed or based upon mining and construction equipment meets milspec requirements and aesthetics.
SIDAS bases their combat doctrine and operational deployment models on USMC Force Recon and Marine Expeditionary Units. They're all about lightning-fast direct action and search and destroy raids, and employing special forces tactics into conventional battlespaces.
As to be expected from their cultural meshing, the average SIDAS contractor has an accent and vocabulary that mixes Afrikaans, with Bristolian English, Welsh, Spanish(chiefly Andalusian and Iberian), Irish Traveller and Midwestern American and Northeastern American English by way of Pittsburgh and New England. As a result, most people have a hard time understanding what the hell they're saying. It doesn't help that their accents wander all over the place.
Motto: Neither King nor Dog, but Hounds of Hell(Nóg King of Dog, maar honde van die hel)
In short: We're not proper, but we're not blindly obedient. We are, however; lovers of war and chaos.
Logo/Insignia: Ash Gray Skull done in the style of tribal tattoos, with the initials "IDAS" engraved into the skull
Anthem: SIDAS Anthem Prep for Combat by Front Line Assembly
